Work of Secondary Air Injection.
This process is where fresh air is pumped in to the exhaust stream to allow fuller combustion of exhaust gasses. Due to advancement of the technology, the amount of the emissions produced depends on the process of the air injection used and it changes. Air Injection systems are in to two kinds. They include the aspirated air injection system and the pumped air injection system. The Injected air injection, uses the method of the vape pump called the air pump. Smog pump. It is turned by the engine via electric motor or a belt. A rotating filter cleans the air as it enters to get rid of the large dirt particles that can damage the system. There is a check valve that prevents the exhaust from forcing its way back to the injection system which may harm the pump and the system. A diverter valve is used to prevent the startling and potentially damaging effects of the explosive combustion of this raw fuel.
Aspirated air injection uses the advantage of the negative pressure rhythms in the exhaust system at engine idle. With this system, a reed valve assembly is used that is sensitive called the aspirator valve which is positioned in the air injection pump. Injection thrust draws air directly from the clean side of the air filter. Through the operation of motor idle, periodic but short negative pressure pulses in the exhaust system. The air is drawn through the aspirator valve and into the exhaust stream at the catalytic converter. The aspirator air injection system is essential in the sense that is cheap, less in weight, in excellent packaging and more straightforward compared to the pump air injection system.
There are a several advantages of secondary air injector that makes it outstanding. This helps to clean up the leftovers hence assisting the car in to realize government emissions standards since the law requires an engine system that does not emit harmful gases after the combustion of the fuel. It helps retain the energy when there are movable ends, leaks, or any other illogical overflow. Secondary air injection can break due to mechanical failure or constant use for a very long period. To regularly manage it, the owner of the vehicle needs to take the car for service annually. Repair of the system should be as soon as it shows signs of not performing. The owner of the vehicle should use the car for specified number of miles before and after the service to avoid the air injection systems breaking
